Who did you see that you totally forgot about? What were the circumstances?
Anonymous asked

Well, I didn’t actually see her in person…just on FB. She had commented on someones post and a light went on in my head. It was an, Oh Yeah…Wow, I remember her, moment. Her name was/is Amy. Amy G., but she is married now, so Amy P. She was/is 2 years older than me, and I met her through my neighbor, Brandon. This was during High School and I was a Sophomore. My neighbor is 2 years older as well, so they were both Seniors. I had seen her before but didn’t know her…Brandon was friends with her and would talk about her to me sometimes, etc.

Anyway, we met at another friend’s house, that I met through Brandon as well. He lived with his Grandmother and she was out of town, so he had a party. His name is Brad H. I was probably the youngest there, but it didn’t really matter to me. I was used to hanging out with this older crowd because of Brandon.

The mind is a strange thing because as I’m typing this, more and more memories are flooding in from that night. I remember playing drinking games with these older guys. They had already graduated and I guess they were having fun getting me to drink a lot, not knowing the games.

I still remember sitting at the kitchen table and Depeche Mode’s Blasphemous Rumors came on. Anyway, Amy and I started to talk at some point during the evening. I guess you could say we had a moment later on…without getting into details. I remember that her ride was going to leave her because she wanted to stay. She talked them into staying a little longer.

I would occasionally see her at school, but we didn’t talk much. I would see her out at parties, etc. throughout the rest of that year. Sometimes, we’d share another moment and sometimes not.

When I got on FB how ever many years ago, she requested me as a friend. We caught up and talked about our families, etc. Then she either left FB for a while or dropped me. Anyway, when I saw her on FB, I had forgotten about her contacting me how ever many years ago and just thought about that year.

Maybe a little too much explanation, but that is how my brain works. I’m even picturing Brad H.’s car, some of the other people I didn’t mention and her friends car…Saying Goodbye outside. Man oh Man, the Brain is Strange, but Cool!

Since you asked, here's the First One...

The picture quality isn’t great, but it will do. It appears I sent this to my friend in Spain 1294 days ago, so roughly 3 1/2 years ago. I don’t normally take picture of my tattoos, so I’m not sure why I sent her this. Anyway, this was my first Tattoo. I got it in October of 2002 from my friend Megan. I got it for my Son, Arbor. He was born in March of that year. His name is Arbor, so I wanted to get something to represent him. His middle name is Sage, so his initials spell out ASH…which also happens to be a type of tree.

That’s pretty much the story of this one. Megan did this all in one sitting. I think it was about 3 1/2 hours.

Week 4, Day 1 of…

Insanity! Yep, 3 Full Weeks are Done. I am very happy that I have stuck with it and not faltered. That usually isn’t the case for me though. I normally have a Goal when working out, etc. but when I meet or exceed the given goal, I slack off or stop completely. This has been my pattern for a long, long time, but hopefully that pattern will now be shattered.

Something Profound…

…well, not really. I was thinking about The Doors quite a bit last night…naturally.  I have all of these Great Memories of times, friends, lovers, etc. that involve The Doors. I do have this really great memory that involves Riders On The Storm, but it is too long for me to write at this moment. I think of it pretty much every time I hear the song. Maybe I’ll get to it later in the week…we’ll see.

Anyway, it is hard to put into words how that band connected me and my friends. There is this video that we made, that starts out based on The Doors. The part in real life that was captured on film, where the band, etc. are in the runway and they say their Name and Occupation. We (myself and friends) had a video camera in Whataburger and somewhat did that. Then a guy fell asleep in the drive-thru, “We Got A Sleeper!!!” and then it was on to the next. My friend, Brian, thought he was Jim and I think he tried to work that in the video as much as possible.

Not sure where this is going, but thinking about The Doors made me think about that video. It still might be floating around out there somewhere. I unfortunately didn’t ever get a copy. I think one of my friends told me she still has a copy. I’m actually transferring her Wedding Video to DVD, so maybe I can get my hands on it. It would be Great to see again. This one girl does a perfect imitation of my old neighbor’s Drunk Scream in the video. I’d like to see or hear that again. That, as well as, other things…
